A Busy Week

Playing Go Ten
We have been keeping busy and trying to stay warm. The winds have been making it feel pretty cold outside for November. Our classroom has been busy with activity. Here are some things we have been up to.

December means Dinovember is Over

With the start of a new month we are saying good-bye to Dinovember. What a month it has been. The excitement and squeals of laughter filled our days as we found the Dinos in our classroom. They even ventured out of our room to discover new places in our school. We will miss them for sure.

Here are our thoughts:
Dinovember is over. I thought it was fun. -Arianna
Our Dinos are gone. I miss them already. -Stacey
I was excited when the dinosaurs came on the first day. Chase
I loved Dinovember. I wonder what they are going to do next time when they come. -Brooke
I hope the Dinos had a good time here. -Tyson
I liked when the Dinos celebrated Theo and Desi's birthdays. -Adria
I helped clean up the Dino messes. They were funny. -Desi
The first day of Dinovember they got out of a big box. -Andrew
We wrote about the dinosaurs. -Dominic
I'm sad that the dinosaurs went back home, but I'm really happy that they left us some candy and dinosaurs. -Lily
When the dinosaurs messed up the calendar they changed the numbers all around. I fixed the calendar up, -Bianca
On one day the Dinos got into the sponges and bit some of them. I was sad because they chewed some of them up. -Jack
The Dinos jumped on Miss Laura's cart. They were doing stuff to her cart. -Marshall
I'm sad that the Dinos left. I also liked what they did. -Theo
I liked when the Dinos got into the recycling bin. They were recycling. -Charlotte
I was excited when they came in the box. -Ava
I liked when the Dinos went into the equipment room in the gym. It was cool. -Blake

If you follow us on Instagram you were able to see the daily antics of the Dinos. We hope you enjoyed their visit as much as we did. Now we will gear up for another wonderful month as we countdown to Christmas. Let the excitement continue!

A November to Remember

The week has been filled with the antics of the Dinos, enjoying the beautiful weather, discussions about Remembrance Day and so much more. Students have a long weekend because there is no school on November 11 and no school for students on Monday, November 14.

Here are our thoughts:
I liked the park because there was a pretend truck. -Jack
I was a wreath bearer at the Remembrance Day assembly. -Ava
I liked the slider at the park. -Chase
I enjoy having the dinosaurs in Room 2. -Adria
I liked the swinging monkey bars at the park. -Lily
The dinosaurs miss home because they want to see their family and friends. -Andrew
I liked the slide at the purple park. -Brody
I liked the rings at the purple park. -Bianca
I liked the assembly because I got to carry the wreath up with my friend. -Ben
I liked going to the park. I liked playing outside. -Theo
I thought the thing that slides was fun. -Arianna
I liked going to the purple park because it is my favourite colour.
Today the dinosaurs were really funny. They started their own colour club. I think they miss home and their friends. It would be really nice if they would just relax and like to stay. -Brooke
I liked going to the purple park. -Blake
The dinosaurs were colouring at my table today. -Desi
We sang O'Canada at the assembly. We saw pictures of gravestones, soldiers and poppies. -Tyson

Our Wednesday Walk took us to a park in the community. Many of the kids know it as Purple Park which makes sense since there is a giant purple slide. The November weather has been delightful. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I know we are loving it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I got my snow tires on extra early this year! Hard to believe that there was a blizzard 30 years ago that shut down the city.

The students did a very good job of being respectful at the assembly today. It was different to not clap for the wonderful performances. Thanks to the help and support from everyone at school for putting together such a lovely program. Take time to remember.

It's Dinovember

Surprise!
We got a special delivery on Halloween. The box said,  "Do not to open until November 1st". When we got to school the next day, dinosaurs had broken out of the box and they ate a lot of Halloween treats. The dinos have been surprising us each day with their nightly antics.

Here are our thoughts:
The dinos stomped on the candy. -Marshall
They made a card that said it was Dinovember -Arianna
I'm surprised that they chewed up some sponges. - Ava
They bit the sponges. They made some mess. I think the T-Rex opens his mouth at night and chomps on stuff. -Desi
I cannot believe that those dinos can make a huge mess. -Theo
The Dinos are here.
It was super funny when they messed up the calendar and told us it was Dinovember. -Andrew
I'm surprised because the dinosaurs can move at night. -Ben
I'm having fun with the dinos being so funny. I think they are controlled by the moon. It's pretty crazy. -Chase
I like the dinosaurs. -Dominic
I think it's funny that all the dinosaurs are crazy about the sponges. -Brooke
I'm surprised that the dinosaurs came out of the box. -Blake
They went on the calendar yesterday. They made a mess. -Tyson
Dinosaurs are eating our sponges. -Stacey
They left us a note.
It was funny when they were all over the calendar. I liked the one holding the flag because it was funny. -Lily
The T-Rex chewed up the foam sponges. They made a big mess with our cars. -Brody
The dinosaurs have been chewing up the sponges. -Bianca
I love Dinovember because each day the dinosaurs surprise us. -Jack
I can't believe the dinosaurs wrecked some sponges. -Adria
What happened to the calendar?
Uh oh!
Hey, those are our sponges and cars!

That looks like fun.
Each morning the kids are wondering what the dinos have been up to at night. It is sure to be a month full of excitement. Welcome to Dinovember!
