Haunted House

The gym was set up with lots of Halloween stations yesterday. What fun it was. We would like to thanks Mrs. Rand and Ms. Knoll for their hard work. Also thank you to the Grade 5 helpers who were at some stations to lend at hand.

Here are our thoughts:
I liked the ropes because I liked to grab the rope and catch the spiders and bats. -Callum
I enjoyed the skeleton dungeon. I was on the monkey bars. -Jake
I liked swinging on the monkey bars. I tried the big ropes too. -Cody
I liked the ropes. I had lots of fun swinging on them. -Zachary
I climbed on the bars. I did a flip. -Jay Dee
On the climbing rope spider web I didn't touch the spider because I was afraid it would do something. -Levi
I liked hitting the pumpkins with the bean bags. -Russell L.






It was fun on the ropes. I liked swinging but I didn't pick up anything. -Landyn
I liked in the change room where you picked up the finger and the brains. -Brady
I liked the swinging bar because you get to swing on it. -Anna
I liked the things that you slide across because it was giving my hands a massage. -Sasha
I tossed the bean bags in the bucket. -Ethan
I liked the big climber. There were sliding things and monkey bars. -Cady
I liked the sliding monkey bars. You got to move side to side and slide across. -Sierra
I liked the ropes because they were fun to swing on. -Elizsa
I was scared of the witches house, but when I got inside there were some lights on. -Gavin
I liked the monkey bars and I liked the swinging bars. -Russell A.
I liked the ropes because I got to swing on them. -Naomi

I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves at the Haunted House. It was a SPOOK-tacular time.

Silver Sneaker Award

Roller racers are cool. 
I can steer really well. 

We got 50 points in gym so we earned a Silver Sneaker class. The students were able to pick different activities to enjoy. It sure was an exciting gym class.
This is fun.

Here are our thoughts:
I dressed up like a hockey player and we played spongee polo. I was in the net. -Shelby
I played spongee polo and I scored a goal. It was so fun. -Ashton
I had a hard time picking something to do. I went on the roller racers. -Saydee
Scooter time.
I enjoyed pushing myself around on the scooter. -Isla
I bounced really high on the hopper balls. I posted a picture of me and Saydee on Instagram. -Kyla
Ribbon play
I was playing hockey in the gym and I was goalie. No one scored on me. -Ashley
I was enjoying bouncing the big balls. -Brayden
I enjoyed dressing up in the hockey equipment and when I was dressed up in the goalie equipment I was sweating. -Kayden
I loved that I get to play with whatever I want to play with. Xoie
It was fun because we got to play with anything we wanted. We went into the equipment room. -Rylee
I loved chasing the kids in their goalie masks. -Kingston
I loved playing with the ribbons. I rode the roller racers. -Brianna
I liked playing spongee polo in hockey gear. It was awesome. -Diamond

It was fabulous that we got our Silver Sneaker class and I played spongee polo. I went on the roller racers. -Andrew
At the Silver Sneaker class I played spongee polo. I went on the roller racers and I also played catch with Brayden. -Hunter
I played spongee polo and I scored both of our goals. I also went in net. -Reese

It is always great to see the students getting lots of physical activity. The gym is where they can really move, burn off some energy, and use different equipment. They were thrilled to get their Silver Sneaker Award. Thanks Mrs. Rand for all your help in promoting physical fitness and fair play.

Future Curling Champions

The Grade Ones were able to go on the curling ice for the first time! Thanks to Mr. Hargreaves and Mrs. Rand for all their hard work. The ice is amazing. We are getting some milder weather too so everyone can get outside to develop their curling skills.

Here are our thoughts:
I liked when we pushed the rocks on the ice. -Rylee
We played with the rocks and pushed them. -Brianna
It was fun because we got to go curling on the ice. -Kayden
It was awesome that we got to play with the rocks. -Hunter
I liked walking on the ice. -Brayden
We got to slide and we tried to get the rock on the red dot. -Shelby
I like exercise and you get exercise in curling. -Isla
I learned that you can slide on the ice in curling. -Kody
I liked how we got to slide the rocks. It was fun to slide on our tummies like a penguin. -Diamond
I was able to stay in my boots and go on the ice. -Xoie
It was fun learning the penguin slide. -Reese
It was easy to stand on the ice. -Saydee
It was fun learning everything about curling. -Kyla
I liked doing the penguin slide because we got to go on our tummy. -Andrew
I liked Mrs.Rand teaching us how to throw the rock. -Ezra
It was my first time being on the curling ice. It was fun because we got to slide on it. -Ashley

I started curling just like this. . . although the rocks were not nearly as fancy as the ones we have at school now. It is great to see the students experiencing this life long sport. Hurry hard!!
