On July 1st Canada will celebrate its 148th birthday. The East St. Paul Lions Club gave the Grade 1s Canada flags and certificates. On Monday we went outside with our friends from Ms. Turner's class to circle the flag that flies outside our school. We sang O'Canada as we waved our flags proudly.
Here are our thoughts:
There are lots of friends in Canada. I made my flag go high in the air when we sang O'Canada. -Xoie
I am going to bring home my flag and keep it in my room forever. -Saydee
On Canada Day I am going to go outside and wave my flag. -Shelby

When I get home I am going to hang my Canada flag outside on the front door. -Hunter
I am going to put my Canada flag in my room on my jewellery box. -Diamond
I am going to put it on my mom's door of her room. -Brianna
When I get home I am going to put the Canada flag in a pot in the middle of the kitchen table. -Andrew
On Canada Day my brother's friend Ryan comes over to celebrate for Canada. Sometimes we have pizza for supper. -Ashley
I celebrate Canada Day by singing O'Canada. -Kody
I am going to wave my flag on Canada Day in my house. -Kyla
I love Canada Day because we celebrate and it is fun. -Ezra
I am going to put my flag in my garden that I planted. My bean is in it too. -Ashton
When we sang O'Canada I was going to look up at the school flag, but the sun was too bright. -Reese
Canada Day is my cat's birthday and I think that is cool. My cat, Frankie will be turning 9. -Isla
