We just launched Read to Self during our Daily 5 schedule. We discussed the three ways to read a book.....read the pictures, read the words, and retell a story you have read. Together we created a chart to list what the students need to be doing during this time and what I would be doing while they were reading. We had students volunteer to show us what read to self should and should not look like. It was awesome to see the class excited about reading their books. We will be working on building our reading stamina throughout the year. Fantastic start everyone!-Mrs. T :)
